Mitsubishi has simplified and streamlined its ASX
range in the UK to contain a single and well-specified trim level dubbed Juro.
Prices start from £ 19,195 OTR, for which you get enhanced styling both inside
and out. On the outside, it features a revised front grille, Dynamic Shield
front styling, a chunky rear bumper, front fog lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels,
all part of the standard equipment package.
Inside, you get climate control, Grand Luxe
upholstery with front seat heaters, cruise control and Mitsubishi’s Smartphone
Link Display Audio (SDA), which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
compatibility and also comes with DAB radio and a reversing camera. The only
optional extra you can spend money on is the £ 525 (including VAT) available
metallic paint.
Powering the ASX Juro is a 1.6-liter MIVEC petrol
unit, producing 117 PS and 154 Nm of torque. In a straight
line, you can accelerate this crossover from zero to 100 km/h in 12.2
seconds, before reaching a top speed of 182 km/h. As for fuel
economy, the Japanese automaker claims 41.5 UK mpg (6.8 l/100km) and CO2
emissions of 155 g/km.
The third-generation Mitsubishi ASX, also known as
the Outlander Sport and the RVR, has been with us since 2010 and is a direct
rival to the likes of the Honda HR-V, Nissan Qashqai and the rest of the
sub-compact crossover segment.
