TVS Motor Company has announced the launch of the
Special Edition Sport for the festive season. The motorcycle has been priced at
INR 40,088 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new variant boasts a longer seat and a
wider pillion handle to enhance the rider and passenger comfort. The motorcycle
comes with new decals aimed to give it a sharper and bolder look. Other visual
talking points include stylized side-view mirrors, a premium 3D logo, aluminium
grab rail and chrome muffler guard. The alloy wheels are wrapped in 2 .75 X 17
section tyre at the front and 3 X 17 section unit at the rear.
The Special Edition model continues to use the 99.7
cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that is tuned to deliver 7.4 PS of
power at 7,500 rpm and 7.5 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm. The engine is mated
to a four-speed gearbox. It also gets 'all gear electric start'. The motorcycle
is claimed to return a fuel economy of 95 km per litre.
The Special Edition continues to use a 130mm drum
brake at the front and a 110 drum unit at the rear. The Special Edition TVS
Sport comes with an optional Synchronized Braking Technology (SBT), making it
the first 100cc motorcycle to offer the safety feature.
Conventional telescopic front forks and 5-step
adjustable twin sided rear shock absorber perform the suspension duties. The
fuel tank capacity stands at 10-litre (2-litre reserve). With a full tank of
fuel, the TVS Sport tips the weighing scale at 108.5 kg.
The Special Edition of the 100 cc motorcycle will be
available in Electric Start and Kick Start Alloy Wheel variants. Buyers can
select from two colour schemes – Black with Red-Silver Decals and Black with
Blue-Silver Decals.
