Genovation Cars has
brought its fully electric 220 mph GXE supercar to this year’s LA Auto Show,
following its CES 2018 reveal from earlier this year.
Since then, the GXE has gone on to earn a Guinness Book of World Records title for a street legal electric car with a speed of 306.5 km/h in the standing mile. The GXE is also the first street legal electric car to hit a top speed of 336 km/h, although the automaker says it can actually do 354 km/h.

Designed, developed and produced in the U.S., the Corvette-based GXE features state-of-the-art batteries, inverters and electric twin motors, for a total system output of 800 horsepower and over 949 Nm of torque. It also has near 50/50 weight distribution, an active programmable suspension, carbon ceramic Brembo brakes, carbon fiber wheels, a 10-speaker JBL stereo, 10.4-inch touchscreen, over the air updates, active aerodynamics and a bespoke cabin.
Buyers will be able
to choose between having it with either a 7-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed
paddle shift automatic. As for its range, the GXE is said to cover more than 281 km on a single charge, although that’s only if you don’t push
the car too hard – it can even hit 96 km/h in under 3 seconds.
First customer
deliveries are scheduled for mid-2019, with production limited to just 75
units.
