While Land Rover is
working on the new-gen Defender, Kahn Design and Chelsea Truck Company have
presented their own take on the classic SUV. The Defender has been turned into
a four-door pickup truck and painted in a Volcanic Rock Satin finish.
The front end of
this Defender sports a new bumper with integrated DRLs and shadow chrome
details, and an X-Lander grille. Complementing the look are the reworked
bonnet, satin black roof, additional lights and new, 9×16-inch Satin Black
Defend 68 wheels shod in 285/75 tires. Cross-hair exhaust outlets, toughened
mud flaps and a 2-inch lift kit complete the exterior package.
With new front
seats, a Satin Silver steering wheel, foot pedals in machined aluminum and other
handcrafted details, the interior of this tuned Defender has definitely become
more luxurious. Other touches include the black leather trim, quilted and
perforated center glove box, and new Churchill time clock integrated into the
dashboard.
Chelsea Truck
Company says this murdered-out Land Rover Defender left the factory floor in
2015, and it’s powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine paired to a manual
transmission. The RHD example shows 13,679 km on the odometer,
and it’s currently on sale with an asking price of £ 69,999,
or nearly £ 6,000 more than the entry-level Range Rover Sport in
the United Kingdom.
