Just a few months ago, Hyundai rolled out the N Line
version of the i30 hatchback, offering some of the sportier looks of the i30 N
hot hatch without the performance enhancements that go with it. Now it’s
extended the same treatment to the i30 Fastback.
The new Hyundai i30 Fastback N Line is distinguished
from “lesser” versions with a silver-accented front bumper, mesh grille, black
headlamp bezels, and the rear bumper from the full-on i30 Fastback N
performance model – compete with diffusor, red reflector strip, and triangular
fog lamps.
It also gets special badges, as well as
an interior spruced up with a sport steering wheel, metal pedals, and N-branded
shifter and sport seats. The suspension has also been retuned, fitted to 17- or 18-inch alloys
wearing Michelin PS4 rubber and packing bigger brakes for added stopping power.
Buyers will be able to choose between 1.0- and 1.4-liter versions of Hyundai’s
T-GDI four-cylinder engine, delivering 118 hp and 171 Nm of
torque or 138 hp and 242 Nm.
Performance figures already released for those
engines in the i30 hatchback, for reference, place the 0-100 km/h time
at 11.1 seconds for the 1.0 with the manual, 9.2 seconds for the 1.4 with the
DCT, and 8.9 seconds for the 1.4 with the manual.
European customers can expect the i30 Fastback N
Line to reach dealers by the end of the year.
