The new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was unveiled in Thailand
over a year ago but is yet to make it to India. That said, in September 2018,
it came to light that the updated model is finally undergoing road-testing in
India. Zigwheels reports that the updated version of
the pickup truck will be introduced with a 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine option
along with the current 2.5-litre unit.
The cosmetic updates for the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross are
subtle in nature but work well to update the aesthetics of the pickup truck. At
the front-end, it features a pair of bolder headlamps that carry bi-LED
projector setups and L-shaped LED DRLs. Other styling enhancements include a
new radiator grille, updated fog lamp housings, and a set of new multi-spoke
alloy wheels.
It's being said that the India-spec 2019 Isuzu D-Max
V-Cross will be introduced with a 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine option along
with an updated version of the current model's 2.5-litre unit. The 1890 cc oil-burner
outputs a maximum power of 150 PS along with a peak torque of 350 Nm. In
comparison, the 2.5-litre unit currently offers 130 PS and 320 Nm.
At the moment, the only transmission option on offer
is a 5-speed manual unit. It has been, however, said that the 1.9-litre motor
will be available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission that
is available on the international version. Isuzu India could offer the
1.9-litre unit with the automatic transmission in the 4x2 variant and 2.5-litre
motor with the manual transmission in the 4x4 version.
The 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross (facelift) is likely to
go on sale in the first-quarter of 2019 and cost INR 15-18 lakh (ex-showroom).
