Lexus has released a single teaser image of the
Lexus RC F Track Edition, which will make its debut in January at the 2019
North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The caption reads “A Higher
Degree of F” and the image is of a fixed wing on the coupe’s boot. The “GT
wing” looks like it’s made from carbon fibre, with F logos on the sides.
No surprise, because a similarly winged RC F has
been spotted testing in Germany. The mule – which was fitted with the optional
carbon fibre pack’s hood and roof (saves 10 kg) – hints at more aggressive
looks and aero versus the standard car. It also wore new bits seen on the
facelifted RC, which debut in August. The performance coupe also recently
received a range of TRD accessories called ‘F Sport Parts’ in Japan.
The BMW M4-rivalling Lexus RC F is powered by a 5.0
litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine making 473 PS and 527 Nm of torque. With such a
name, we’re also expecting chassis and brake upgrades, as well as some weight
reduction measures.
