McLaren Beverly Hills commissioned a special collection of cars through the MSO division, dubbed ‘Racing Through the Ages’. The collection and its three themes (Muriwai, Papaya Spark and Sarthe Grey) represent significant periods in the automaker’s racing history.

Each theme is represented by both a 570S Coupe and a 570S Spider, making this collection six-cars deep. As of right now, McLaren Beverly Hills is on track to become this year’s highest performing retailer in the world for MSO.

All six cars feature a special MSO designed, dealer-fit rear wing and come with a GT4 racing stripe on the exterior hood and roof. They also have the MSO Defined Black Pack, gloss black 10-spoke super-lightweight forged wheels and the MSO Defined Titanium SuperSports exhaust system.

Inside, the GT4 stripe is integrated into the backrest of the seat and the MSO logo is stitched into the headrest, to go with the McLaren Orange 12 o’clock mark on the steering wheel. Owners also get a plate which says ‘1 of 6 – Racing Through the Ages’ and a key that’s finished in the same color as the car’s exterior.

This theme’s Muriwai White paint is inspired by white/blue waves crashing on Muriwai Beach in New Zealand, which is where Bruce McLaren competed in his first race when he was just 15 years old. Muriwai was also the name of the house he went on to build in Woking, which featured a white exterior and blue shutters. On the car, the color can even be seen on the endplates of the fixed rear wing, which also come with a McLaren Orange ‘Speedy Kiwi’ logo.

The Papaya Spark theme is meant to be a revolution of the Papaya color that Bruce McLaren chose for his race cars in the 1960s and 70s – cars that achieved success across Can-Am, Indy500 and Formula One races. Here, the fixed wing features a Burton Blue finish with Papaya Spark endplates, thus honoring the iconic blue spoiler used on the automaker’s original race cars.

This theme celebrates McLaren’s dominant 1995 Le Mans victory, where the F1 GTR took first, third, fourth, fifth and thirteenth place. These 570S Coupe and Spider models are finished in MSO Defined Sarthe Grey, emulating the color of the F1 GTR. Like the Muriwai theme, this one also features body-colored rear wing endplates, although you can also see ’24 Heures Du Mans – Winners 1995′ in white lettering.
