YouTube channel Auto Vikings has posted a video
showing the top-end configuration of the 2019 Maruti Wagon R featuring AGS,
Maruti Suzuki’s proprietary branding for AMT. The transmission choices of the
2019 Maruti Wagon R are the same as those of its predecessor: 5-speed manual
and 5-speed automated manual. Instead of the K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder
petrol engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque, customers can go
for the K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 83 PS and 113 Nm of torque this time. The AGS option is available for both the
engine models, and configurations equipped with it should deliver the same fuel
economy as those with a manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the 2019 Wagon R in three
grades: LXi, VXi and ZXi. Customers will have the AGS option in only the VXi
and ZXi grades, depending on the engine selected. On the outside, the hatchback
features squarish headlamps, chrome accent on the grille, power folding and
adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, 14-inch steel wheels and tall
tail lamps. The colour palette comprises six options, and the car seen in the
video here is painted in ‘Nutmeg Brown’.
Inside, the all-new Maruti Wagon R has a dual-tone
colour scheme. The range-topping grade comes equipped with a 7.0-inch
touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto,
day/night IRVM, tilt-adjustable steering, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth
controls, and 60:40 split folding rear seats.
On the safety front, driver-side airbag, ABS with
EBD and rear parking sensors are standard. Front fog lamps, front passenger
airbag and rear defogger, washer and wiper are included as standard in only the
ZXi grade, although there is an option for front passenger airbag in the LXi
and VXi grades.
Maruti Suzuki will launch the new generation Wagon R
on the 23rd of this month.
