It didn’t take long for Renault to release the first special edition model of the facelifted Twingo — and it’s a very French one. That’s because it’s a partnership between the carmaker and French sportswear brand le coq sportif. Suggestively called the Twingo “le coq sportif,” the special edition model adopts the brand’s specific design details which include France’s national colors.

There are more configurations available, but the most, well, French one combines a white body color with asymmetrical side cabin strips: the French colors on the left side extending to the roof of the car, and le coq sportif’s logo on the right side. Other styling tweaks include the red mirror caps, blue accents on the front grille, red accents on the rear bumper, as well as the sports apparel brand’s badge integrated into the protective side door moldings.

Inside, the 2019 Twingo le coq sportif welcomes passengers with colors and materials specific to the sportswear company. The door sills, floor mats, dashboard and gearstick bellows feature a unique design, while an exclusive brushed aluminum plate marked “Twingo by le coq sportif” is placed at the base of the gearstick.

The special edition Twingo is based on the range-topping trim level and features the new Renault Easy Link 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic air conditioning, rearview camera with rear park assist, as well as automatic headlights and wipers, among other things.

Available engines for the Twingo le coq sportif include the SCe 75 and TCe 95 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline units, which can be had with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed EDC dual-clutch transmissions (available only for the turbo engine). The Renault Twingo le coq sportif will be available this spring in Quartz White, Crystal White, Lunar Grey and Star Black body colors.
