Gemballa has revealed its wild new Porsche 911 Turbo
in full a couple days after dropping a series of teaser images. The vehicle,
dubbed the Gemballa GTR 8XX EvoR BiTurbo has a complex name, an over-the-top
design, and more performance than anyone could ever possibly need.
Rather than performing a costly engine swap,
Gemballa opted to retain the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six of the 911
Turbo and perform a series of comprehensive modifications. Sadly, the tuner hasn’t
specified what exact upgrades the engine has benefited from, but at least we do
have a series of key figures to lust over.
For starters, the GTR 8XX EvoR BiTurbo pumps out a
brutal 807 hp and 098 Nm of torque. That’s a huge bump over the
572 hp and 700 Nm of the standard 911 Turbo S and shows that
Gemballa is just as wild as it was a decade ago with the Carrera GT-based
Mirage GT. Not even a 911 GT2 RS would be capable of keeping up with the GTR
8XX.
In fact, Gemballa asserts its 911 rocketship will
hit 100 km/h in 2.38 seconds before screaming past 200 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The vehicle’s top speed sits at a casual 340 km/h.
While many 911 owners like the sports car for its
subtlety, Gemballa’s overhauled 911 Turbo screams “LOOK AT ME” and makes
certain Italian exotics seem rather bland. Up front, there’s a bespoke hood
with large air extractors and a new front splitter. The tuner has also fitted
flared wheel arches which extend the width of the car by 30 mm at the front and
50 mm at the rear. This has allowed for the fitment of wider wheels and tires
than a typical Turbo. but once again, we haven’t been provided with specifics.
All in all, this is a Porsche 911 Turbo for those
that want to make a very loud statement and go hypercar hunting if they so
wish.
