According to Mopar Insiders, Dodge is planning to offer a widebody option on the 2020 Charger. Rumored to be available on R/T Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat models, the widebody option will mimic that offered on the Challenger.

In regards to the Charger, the widebody model will reportedly have “drastically different looking” fascias, extended fender flares and unique side skirts. The widebody variants are also slated to receive a revised grille and a set of 20-inch aluminum wheels. The cars are also rumored to have unique suspension tuning as well as some other minor upgrades.

Engine options will reportedly carryover as the Charger R/T Scat Pack widebody should have a 6.4-liter V8 engine that produces 485 hp and 643 Nm of torque. Likewise, the Charger SRT Hellcat widebody will presumably use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that develops 707 hp and 881 Nm of torque.

Interestingly, the report suggests there aren’t any immediate plans to install the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye’s engine into the Charger. That’s a bit disappointing as the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 develops 797 hp and 957 Nm of torque. It enables the coupe to rocket from 0-96 km/h in 3.4 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 326 km/h.

If the rumors pan out, the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody could make an appearance at the Woodward Dream Cruise which takes place on August 17th.
