The Devel Sixteen has yet to hit production, but the
company says it has more than enough people interested in it. CoolHunting reports that the waiting list is now
two years long. And even if they can easily fork out at least US$ 1.6 million for
the hypercar, potential customers won’t be guaranteed that they’ll be selected
to spend their money on one.
The range-topping version of the Sixteen comes at an
eye-watering US$ 2.2 million (€ 1.94 million). It uses a 12.3-liter turbocharged
V16 engine, which is rated at 5,007 hp and 5,094 Nm of torque. That’s more than three times the power
produced by the Bugatti Chiron’s 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 unit.
Hitting top speed in the Sixteen will be a truly
memorable experience. The automaker estimates that it will max out at a
whopping 320 mph (515 km/h), which, if correct, will turn it into the
undisputed king of production models.
If having 5,000 hp sounds too scary, then customers
can get the entry-level model from US$ 1.6 million (€ 1.4 million), with its
twin-turbo V8 that pushes out 2,000 hp. The mid-range
variant has 3,000 hp and is said to cost US$ 1.87 million
(€ 1,65 million). The Sixteen is on display at the 2019 Canadian International Auto
Show, in Toronto, until February 24.
