Autocar India reports
that Mahindra XUV300 will get AMT shortly after launch. As per the latest report, Mahindra will introduce a
Magneti Marelli-sourced AMT unit in the diesel-powered Mahindra XUV300 soon. So
far, the company has sourced Automated Manual Transmissions from Ricardo, a
UK-based supplier. It is being said that the AMT gearbox for the XUV300 will be
replaced with an Aisin-sourced torque converter automatic transmission when the
engines are upgraded to comply with the BSVI emission norms in 2020, the same
way in case of the Marazzo.
The Mahindra XUV300 will be available with two
turbocharged engine options - 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The former
offers 110 bhp/200 Nm, while the latter produces 115 bhp/300 Nm. Initially,
both the engines will be available exclusively with a 6-speed manual
transmission. The new Maruti Vitara Brezza rival will return an ARAI-certified
fuel efficiency of 17 km/l with the petrol engine and 20 km/l with the oil
burner.
An all-electric variant will follow in mid-2020. The
zero-emission model will be presented with two powertrain options, with the
top-spec version expected to come equipped with a 380-volt system developed in cooperation
between Ssangyong and Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd.
The Mahindra XUV300 looks all set to become the most
feature-laden offering in its segment. Dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX
child seat mounts, rear parking sensors, electric tailgate opener, multiple
steering settings and an audio system with four speakers will be available
across all the variants. Furthermore, the top-spec W8(O) grade will offer an
electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM,
heated ORVMs, front and rear parking sensors, seven airbags and Tire Pressure
Monitoring System (TPMS).
