The McLaren 600LT Spider may be a little too much
for some people but to our eyes, it might just be the best-looking McLaren
ever. The following gallery recently published by the British manufacturer only
makes us love the droptop supercar even more.
Members of the press recently enjoyed the
opportunity to test the hardcore Sports Series model in Arizona and the gallery
below shows the car painted in Myan Orange, Lantana Purple, and Lime Green. The
pictures serve to prove that no other supercars can pull off bright colors
quite like McLarens.
Like the 600LT Coupe, the Spider is lighter than the
standard model and tips the scales at a mere 1297 kg, roughly 100 kg less than the regular 570S Spider. What’s more, it only weighs 50 kg more than the 600LT Coupe.
The engine powering the 600LT Spider is McLaren’s
familiar twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 that’s good for 592 hp and 620 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels courtesy of a dual-clutch
Seamless Shift seven-speed gearbox which allows the supercar to hit 96 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 200 km/h in 8.4 seconds and hit a 324 km/h top speed.
Aerodynamic modifications are aplenty with the 600LT
and include a more pronounced front spoiler, bold side skirts, a fixed rear
wing, and a carbon fiber rear diffuser. It also retains the same tailpipe
design as the 600LT Coupe, meaning drivers can easily send flames soaring into
the sky.
