The Hero MotoCorp XPulse 200 India launch isn’t too
far away, and photographs of the motorcycle are circulating on messaging
services. The motorcycle is seen in two variants. One is the standard variant
that we saw at the 2018 Auto Expo. The second motorcycle, however, appears to
be more off-road ready with a pair of knobby tires. The wheel cover at the
front and the top-box mount are missing while the tail gets a compact finish
that distinguishes it from the standard XPulse 200.
Hero MotoCorp
would also introduce a tourer version of the XPulse 200. Hero MotoCorp has
unveiled the road-biased version of the XPulse 200, christened as the XPulse
200T, at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The road-biased Xpulse
200T gets a taller windscreen and alloy wheels instead of wire-spoke units that
are seen on the off-road spec model.
Both models would use the same 200cc, oil-cooled,
single-cylinder engine that delivers 18 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and
peak torque of 17 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The safety and convenience features on the XPulse range would include
single-channel ABS, LED head and tail lamps, digital speedometer with Bluetooth
connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Designed to take the beaten path, the XPulse 200
features a long-travel front suspension with 190 mm travel and an adjustable
rear mono-shock with 180 mm travel. Stopping power comes from single,
petal-type discs on both wheels. The XPulse 200 features 21-inch front and 18-inch
rear wire-spoke wheels. The XPulse 200T, on the other hand, gets 17-inch alloy
wheels on both ends.
