The CBS upgrade continues as the upcoming safety
norms are less than three weeks away and the latest motorcycles to receive the
tech are the Honda Dream Yuga and Livo commuters. The two bikes join the CD 110
Deluxe in the list of CBS-equipped models in Honda’s portfolio in the Indian
market.
The CBS has resulted in a marginal price hike. The
Dream Yuga CBS retails at approximately INR 560 more over the non-CBS model
(INR 54,247*) and could be purchased for INR 54,807*. The Honda Livo CBS could
be yours for INR 57,539* (drum brake version) and INR 59,950* (front disc brake
variant). For reference, the CD 110 Dream CBS was launched in India at INR
50,028* for the STD variant and INR 51,528* for the DLX version.
The motorcycles
continue to feature the same mechanical specifications as before. The engines
would receive a major upgrade in 2020 when the BS-VI emission norms come into
effect. Till then, the Honda Dream Yuga and Livo would use a 109.19 cc, air
cooled, 4-stroke engine that delivers 8.31 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 9.09
Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a four-speed gearbox.
Anchoring department of the Dream Yuga comprises 130
mm drum brakes on both ends while the Livo comes with the option of a 240 mm
disc brake at the front. The Dream Yuga is aimed to attract mature buyers while
the Livo is targeted to a younger audience who are looking for a budget
motorcycle. The styling reflects the same, and the Livo comes with a relatively
muscular look while the Dream Yuga adapts subtle visual cues.
Conventional telescopic forks at the front and
twin-sided springs at the rear perform shock absorption tasks. Both models
feature 80/100-18 section tubeless tyres on both ends.
