MG will offer the electric version of the ZS compact SUV that debuted last year at the Guangzhou Auto Show in the UK market this fall. The SAIC-owned brand hasn’t confirmed the specifications of the UK-spec electric ZS, only saying that it will offer room for five and a full-sized boot.

The eZS compact SUV will more likely use the same 146 HP electric motor as the China-spec model and a lithium-ion battery pack of unspecified capacity mounted between the two axles.

In its Chinese specification, MG’s first all-electric claims to offer 431 km of range per the NEDC cycle. Under the stricter WLTP standards, the driving range is expected to be closer to 320 km.

The MG ZS has been on sale in the UK since 2017 and is offered with two petrol engine options, a 105 hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit and a turbocharged 109 hp 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit.

The new electric MG ZS will be sold alongside the existing petrol models, with more details to be announced closer to its launch.
