Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus will unveil the SCG
004CS, a more track-focused yet road legal version of its 004S supercar, in
March. SCG 004CS will be based on
the 004S supercar we first laid eyes on in late November 2017. That car has yet
to debut, something that probably will not happen until the end of the year,
but that hasn’t dissuaded James Glickenhaus from powering ahead with plans for
a faster and more expensive version.
A single teaser image of the supercar published on
Facebook shows that it will benefit from a number of upgrades over the
‘regular’ 004S. For example, it has center-locking wheels, additional carbon
fiber parts, and a lower stance.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus initially stated that
the 004 S supercar would use a twin-turbo LT4 5.0-liter V8 with approximately
650 hp. However, the company has since decided that the vehicle will run a
modified version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 from the R35 GT-R.
We have no info whatsoever about what will power the
track-focused 004 CS, but we know it will pump out roughly 900 hp. And, given
the immense tuning potential of Nissan’s VR38DETT, we wouldn’t rule out it
being the engine of choice. In addition, the various aerodynamic alterations should
see the 004 CS deliver as much as 861 kg of downforce.
Following the release of both the SCG 004 S and SCG
004 CS, the company will enter the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in 2020 with the
track-only SCG 004 C. Sadly, as you might have guessed, details concerning the
racer are virtually non-existent at this point.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus intends on selling the
‘regular’ 004S for roughly US$ 400,000 and plans on building up to 250 units
annually. It remains to be seen how much the 004 CS will cost and if it will be
built alongside the S or as a limited run.
