Audi has brought the Black Edition spec to the fifth
generation A6. Available for both Saloon and Avant body styles, regardless of
the selected engine, the new spec can be had from £ 44,635 (US$ 57,705/€ 51,558) in
the United Kingdom.
Based on the S Line grade, the Black Edition adds a
distinctive dark look for the grille surround, front air intakes, side mirror
casings and rear diffuser. Rear privacy glass is standard, the wheels have been
upgraded from 19- to 20-inches and feature a matte titanium look.
On top of that, the LED headlights have been
replaced by Matrix units, while the estate version features black roof rails. A similar theme has been chosen
for the interior, which gets leather and Alcantara front sport seats, plus a
perforated leather multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters and dark
brushed aluminum inlays. The two screens that form the MMI touch response
system are standard and work together with the 7-inch digital instrument
cluster. The Audi Smartphone Interface is also included, alongside other
equipment offered at no additional cost.
Getting the MMI Navigation Plus system, a larger
10.1-inch upper screen (standard is 8.8 in), Audi Virtual Cockpit, wireless
charging pad for smartphones and improved voice recognition requires selecting
the Technology Pack. The powered door closure, acoustic glazing and Bang &
Olufsen sound system are also optional extras. As for safety, customers can get
the Tour and City Assist option packs that add adaptive cruise assist, side
assist, high-beam assist and traffic sign recognition system.
