This is the Enovate ME-S concept, a
four-door electric sedan study that debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show, featuring striking, albeit familiar looks.
Enovate Motors says that the ME-S will enter
production in 2021, powered by a 800V battery pack and be compatible with 300kW
charge rates. This means that the ME-S will be able to recharge up to 80
percent of its battery in just 15 minutes.
While the Chinese startup company didn’t mention any
further technical details concerning the powertrain, it did say that the ME-S
will be all-wheel drive and capable of a 0-100 km/h in three seconds.
You could say that the four-door saloon concept is
attractive, if you deduct the fact that it
looks a bit like the lovechild of the Porsche Panamera and the Taycan.
The rear end shows alarming levels of similarity while the suicide rear doors
remind us of those in the Mission E concept. It shouldn’t come as a surprise
then that Enovate’s design chief is Hakan Saracoglu, who contributed to models
like the Porsche 918 Spyder.
The futuristic interior with the four separate
seats, plenty of wood covering its majority and more screen that we can count
is pure concept as you would expect. Enovate says that the ME-S will also come
with Level 4 autonomous tech, as well as 5G for traffic interconnections.
Enovate is planning to follow Tesla’s footsteps by
first entering the luxury segment and then work its way into more affordable
segments, according to a spokesperson who talked to Top Gear.
