It’s been a week since Infiniti released this
official teaser showcasing their new Qs Inspiration Concept, scheduled to be
unveiled in Shanghai on April 16. Thanks to China’s Autohome, we
now have a gallery of images (albeit low-res), depicting the Qs Inspiration in
all its splendor. As for its purpose, it is a design study that will eventually
morph into medium and large full-electric Infiniti vehicles sometime in the
future.
It is no mere coincidence that the Qs Inspiration
features the same design language as the QX Inspiration. The latter was
unveiled earlier this year in Detroit in order to preview an electrified
crossover. As you can see, the Qs boasts a nearly identical front fascia and
pillar design, although de devil is definitely in the details.
The Qs’ headlights are a little less pointy than
those of the QX, almost resembling Volvo’s Thor’s Hammer LED signature. You can
tell that the designers wanted to make the Qs a little less rugged-looking,
emphasizing its elegant features.
Then you have the A-Pillar design and the way it
blends in with the roof – very reminiscent of the Nissan GT-R, which in turn
helps give the Qs Inspiration a more dynamic stance, especially when viewed
from the side.
Inside the Qs Inspiration there is a futuristic and
display-laden dashboard (two of them), similar in design to that of the
previously-mentioned QX. Unlike the QX though, the Qs has a slightly sportier
ambiance inside, with a smaller steering wheel that doesn’t appear to have its
own display.
Overall, the cabin of the Qs seems more
driver-oriented, which makes sense seen as how this concept is meant to be less
of a traditional family-hauler and more of a sports/luxury sedan, depending on
which EV segment it will infiltrate.
