Maruti Suzuki has
upgraded the safety of the Celerio and Celerio X to make it compliant with both
new and upcoming safety norms. The company had rolled out a similar update to
the Eeco at the start of this month.
Effective 1 April
2019, all models of M1 and M2 vehicles are required to be fitted with ABS as
standard. On 1 July 2019, speed alert system, driver and co-driver seat belt
reminder, driver airbag, reverse parking sensors and manual override for
central locking system will become mandatory for M1 category vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki has made ABS standard and introduced
co-driver seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensors and speed alert system.
All newly introduced safety features are included across the range. Driver seat
belt reminder and driver airbag were already standard in the car. These changes
apply to both Celerio and Celerio X.
