Nissan X-Trail
buyers in the UK can now choose between two brand new powertrain options: a
1.7-liter dCi diesel with 150 PS and a 1.3-liter DIG-T petrol with 160
PS. The diesel option is available with both 2WD and 4WD, and paired
to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol unit can be had exclusively
with 2WD and a dual-clutch DCT transmission, which makes shifting gears quicker
and smoother.
Both engines are
said to meet the latest Euro 6d-Temp emissions standards, with the diesel unit
producing 137-143 g/km of CO2 in 2WD spec, as per the NEDC-BT cycle. Go for the
4WD model and the numbers go up to 151-154 g/km CO2. The 1.3-liter petrol on
the other hand, is good for 145-154 g/km CO2.
As for fuel economy
(WLTP), the latter can average between 33.2 – 34.9 mpg (8.5 – 8.1 l/100km),
while the 2WD diesel stands out as the most frugal, rated at 41.5 – 43.5 mpg
(6.8 – 6.5 l/100km). The 4WD spec will do 39.8 – 42.2 mpg (7.1 – 6.7 l/100km).
The Nissan X-Trail
is priced from £ 25,795 (US$ 33,711) in the UK, which will land you the entry-level
dCi 150 manual 2WD model. Opt instead for the flagship Tekna model and you’ll
be spending as much as £ 33,595 (US$ 43,895) on a dCi 150 4WD version.
