The Pininfarina Battista has arrived in the United
Kingdom where it will celebrate its British debut at the Goodwood Members’
Meeting on April 5th. Unveiled last month at the Geneva Motor Show, the Battista is a
“luxury electric hyper performance GT” which has performance specifications
that boggle the mind. It’s four electric motors produce a staggering combined
output of 1,874 hp and 2,300 Nm of torque.
This enables the model to rocket from 0-100 km/h in less than two
seconds and 0-300 km/h in less than 12 seconds.
Those are some truly impressive numbers and the top
speed of more than 350 km/h isn’t too shabby either. It’s also worth
mentioning that the Battista’s Rimac-sourced battery pack has a capacity of 120
kWh and this enables the car to be driven approximately 483 km on a
single charge.
While the performance specifications are certainly
eye-catching, Pininfarina noted the Battista could appeal to ultra-wealthy
drivers in the UK as the first deliveries will begin a few months before the
whole of Greater London will become an Ultra Low Emissions Zone in 2021. While
it’s doubtful that owners would have a problem coughing up £ 12.50 to pay for driving something less eco-friendly, they won’t have to worry about
it thanks to the car’s electric powertrain.
According to Automobili Pininfarina CEO Michael
Perschke, “The Battista is a truly beautiful, guilt-free hypercar – the first
EV to really fall in love with – because electricity enables us to develop it
with zero emissions and as the most powerful car that will have ever been
designed and built in Italy.”
Production is limited to 150 units and UK customers
can place their orders at H.R. Owen in London or Rybrook in the British
Midlands.
