The Rivian R1S has yet to reach the production line,
but a fan of the all-electric SUV has rendered a hardcore off-road version of
it.
The two renderings are the work of Mo Aoun and were
recently shared on LinkedIn. Pictured first up is an R1S designed for use by
park rangers. It comes equipped with large off-road wheels and tires and
features an increased ride height, a black bull bar, and a large luggage rack
on the roof. There are also no less than six powerful lights mounted to its roof
cage.
As for the second model, it is even more hardcore.
Aoun has rendered the SUV with a large steel frame up front to protect the
front bumper as well as a bull bar and a cage which stretches up over part of
the hood, as well as a spare wheel fitted in the SUV’s frunk. Final
modifications made to this example include similar off-road wheels and tires to
the park ranger rendering as well as a large cage on the roof.
Rivian has its work cut out for it to bring the R1S
SUV and R1T pickup truck to the market, but it is already working on a third
model, namely an off-roader. It remains to be seen if this model will be based
on the R1S, but if it looks anything like the SUV pictured, it could get
off-roading enthusiasts interested in EVs.
