The 2019 Suzuki
Gixxer SF (155) has leaked online. It could be launched along with the bigger
quarter-litre model on the 20th of this month. The photograph of the brochure
shows how much change the Suzuki Gixxer SF (155) has gone under with the MY2019
update. It has received a sharper, full-LED headlight that looks similar to
that of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. The digital console could have a new backlit
in the MY2019 model.
The muscular fuel tank is in the same design as
before, while the saddle has a sportier, split setup. The outgoing model, for
reference, used a single-piece seat. The split saddle design will also give
better access to space under the pillion seat. The tail section has also
received styling tweaks and features a new LED tail light. The rear blinkers
continue to occupy the area near the number plate holder. Unlike the old model,
the new model has a pair of reflectors.
The twin-outlet exhaust design with a chrome tip and
heat shield has remained unchanged. The alloy wheels have also been carried
over from the old model. The suspension setup is also the same: conventional
telescopic forks and a monoshock at the front and back respectively. Anchoring power comes from single
disc brakes on both wheels, while the safety net includes a single-channel ABS.
The quarter-litre Gixxer SF, on the other hand, uses dual-channel ABS.
Mechanical specs are not likely to change, and
unless Suzuki surprises us with a BS-VI upgrade early on, the Gixxer SF will
continue to use a 154.9 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out
14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine comes
paired with a five-speed gearbox. The Suzuki Gixxer SF is currently
priced from INR 98,076 (ex-showroom Delhi). The MY2019 update will likely bring
a minor price bump.
