Alfa Romeo has
presented a special Giulia Quadrifoglio at the Mille Miglia as a way to
celebrate its long-standing connection to the famous event. This one-off Giulia
is finished in a shade dubbed Ochre – basically a shimmering gloss gold which
makes the sports sedan really pop. Alfa Romeo says the distinctive color has been
designed to look similar to a shade of orange/yellow they offered for some of
their models in the 1960s and 70s.
No matter how much
Alfa Romeo enthusiasts may love (or hate) the color, there are no plans to
bring it into production as it was exclusively made as an ode to the Mille
Miglia.
Until the successor
to the 8C Competizione, the Giulia Quadrifoglio will likely remain the most
desirable car in the automaker’s range. Sure, it may be a few years old at this
point but the Italian stallion is exceptionally quick thanks to its twin-turbo
2.9-liter V6 with 503 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Alfa Romeo sells the
car in both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic guises but right-hand
drive markets don’t have the option of that stick shift.
Nonetheless, the
combination of a screaming V6 engine and rear-wheel drive makes the Giulia
Quadrifoglio one hell of a performance car. What’s more, it absolutely looks
the part and in this shade of gold, arguably makes C63s and M3s look rather
docile.
