Bajaj Auto has launched the Bajaj Avenger Street 160
ABS as a replacement for the Bajaj Avenger Street 180. It comes in two colour
options – Ebony Black and Spicy Red. It has been priced at INR 82,253 (all
Ex-Showroom Delhi), which is INR 4,358 lower than the Avenger 180 Street
(non-ABS)'s price.
The new 160 cc variant of the Avenger Street family
features single-channel ABS with Rear Lift-off Protection, roadster design
headlamp with LED DRLs, rubberised rear grab, new graphics with larger Insignia
and black alloy wheels. It combines the features of ‘roadster’ and ‘cruiser’
style motorcycles - street control handlebar, low-slung seat and alloy wheels.
The Avenger 160 Street ABS draws 15 PS of power at
8,500 rpm and 13.5 of peak torque at 7,000 from its 160.4 cc single-cylinder,
air-cooled engine. The power-to-weight ratio has improved to 103.3 PS/Ton from
the Avenger 150’s 98 PS/Ton.
Stopping power comes from a disc brake (260 mm) at
the front with ABS and a drum unit at the back with Rear Lift-off Protection
(RLP) tech. Shock absorption tasks are performed by conventional telescopic
forks at the front and twin-sided springs at the rear.
