The made-in-India Hero XPulse 200 has reached
Colombia. There, it's called the Hero Thriller 200X and was displayed at one of
Colombia’s important motorcycle events, Feria 2 Ruedas. Hero MotoCorp is yet to launch
the Thriller 200X in Colombia. In India, the original version, the XPulse 200,
costs* INR 97,000 (carburettor variant)/INR 1.05 lakh (fuel injected variant).
The motorcycle will be available in Colombia in only the Fuel Injected variant.
The Thriller 200X has no changes apart from the
name. Designed and developed by Hero MotoCorp engineers at the Hero Centre of
Innovation and Technology (CIT), the off-road biased version of the adventure
motorcycle uses 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, knobby tyres, 220 mm of
ground clearance, a tall-set front fender, an aluminium bash plate, tall-placed
exhaust and a pair of knuckle guards. It has wire-spoke wheels for better
strength. The Thriller 200X branding is placed on the fuel tank while a Fi
(Fuel Injected) sticker sits on the side panel.
Premium features of the Thriller 200X include a
full-LED headlight, LED tail lamp and digital instrument console and
first-in-class Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation. Apart from
navigation, the instrument console displays average fuel consumption,
distance-to-empty and gear position indicator. The fuel-injected model is
available in three colour options - Matte Green, Pearl Fadeless White and Matte
Axis Grey – in India and we expect to see a similar palette in the Colombian
market.
The Hero Thriller 200X mounts a 199.6
single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 18.4 PS at 8,000 rpm and 17.1
Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is linked to a 5-speed transmission.
Stopping power comes from 276 mm (front) and 220 mm (rear) petal-type disc
brakes, while the safety net comprises single-channel ABS. Conventional telescopic front
forks and a 10-step adjustable Gas Charged monoshock suspension at the back
perform shock absorption tasks and have 190 mm and 170 mm travel respectively.
The motorcycle comes with fork gaiters to protect the fork oil-seals.
