Hyundai today launched the Grand i10 CNG in India. The CNG option is available in only the Magna trim and costs INR 6,39,000*. A CNG option was already available in the Hyundai Grand i10, but exclusively for fleet operators. The Magna CNG configuration comes at a premium of INR 67,000 over the Magna petrol configuration.

Since the car is available only in the Magna trim, it misses out on some features limited specifically to the higher-spec Sportz and Asta trims. Even then, it is decently equipped with features such as roof rails, remote locking, Bluetooth audio system with steering mounted controls, rear AC vents, all-four power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs. On the safety front, the equipment list includes dual front airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.

The Hyundai Grand i10 CNG runs on a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine option which churns out 83 PS and 110 Nm of torque running on petrol and 67 PS and 98 Nm of torque running on CNG. The transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox. After the all-new Santro CNG, the Grand i10 CNG is the second CNG model Hyundai offers for private customers. This move gives an upper hand to the Grand i10 considering its rivals such as Maruti Swift and Ford Figo doesn't come in a CNG variant.

Hyundai is currently working on the third generation i10/Grand i10. It will likely launch this fully redesigned model in India around the festive season this year.
