Isuzu just unveiled the D-Max XTR prototype at the
Commercial Vehicle Show, set to morph into a production-ready version later
this year with pricing starting from £ 33,999 (US$ 44,268). The D-Max XTR boasts extreme
off-road capabilities thanks to its bespoke Pedders suspension, sophisicated
body kit, increased ride height (250 mm ground clearance),
performance front brake discs and 17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli Scorpion
All Terrain Plus tires.
Isuzu added a custom body kit in order to enhance
the visual appeal of the D-Max XTR. The kit is comprised of a front bumper
guard, hood protector, headline frames, wheel arch extensions, rear bumper and
tailgate spoiler. Other exterior mods include the black door mirror covers and
black door handles, while the tinted rear windows will provide a dark
aesthetic.
As for the color palette, the truck will be
available in Splash White, Titanium Silver Met, Obsidian Grey Mica and Cosmic
Black Mica – all of which were chosen to work alongside the vibrant green color
incorporated into select components of the suspension and brake system.
Inside, the D-Max XTR boasts heated front sports
seats, upholstered in leather, suede and carbon fiber, with green contrast
stitching on the side bolsters. Meanwhile, the XTR logo is embroidered on the
back rest of each front seat, as well as on the rear center headrest.
Then there’s the D-shaped steering wheel, which
looks surprisingly sporty, especially for a pickup truck that doesn’t
necessarily project straight line prowess. It is trimmed in leather and suede
and features green stitching like the seats – sewn by hand.
