The Jeep Compass Trailhawk has finally been listed
on Jeep India's website. The listing of the Trailhawk variant confirms the
much-awaited 9-speed automatic transmission for the Jeep Compass diesel in
India. This isn't the first look at the Indian-spec Jeep Compass Trailhawk,
as spy shots had revealed the same earlier this month.
Even the interior has been partially leaked,
revealing exclusive features like 7-inch full-colour MID, an 8.4-inch touchscreen
infotainment system with satellite navigation and red highlights on the
instrument panel and the speaker bezels. These features are unavailable in the
standard variant, which is available in Sport, Sport Plus, Longitude, Limited
and Limited Plus equipment lines. Under the hood, there will be the BS-6
2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. This unit
produces 173 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque in the BS-4 version.
The Trailhawk variant of the Compass will be Jeep's
most affordable Trail Rated SUV in India. Exclusive fitments for greater
off-road capabilities will include the Active Drive Low 4x4 system with 20:1
crawl ratio and the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control system with an
additional 'Rock' mode.
This variant has higher ground clearance, thanks to its
off-road suspension. A black anti-glare hood decal, red recovery hook (rear),
skid plates, grey window surrounds, 'Trail-Rated' badging, distinctive 17-inch
dual-tone alloy wheels and other unique exterior bits will help onlookers
differentiate it from the standard variant.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will likely go up for
pre-orders in India in June and go on sale in July. It is expected to retail at
around INR 28-30 lakh (ex-showroom).
