Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the Edition 1 X 350d
4MATIC that will be introduced in the Australian market in July. The new model follow’s after the
‘regular’ X 350d 4MATIC’s local launch in December last year. Differentiating
the Edition 1 model from the various other X-Class models are a number of
distinctive features and accessories.
Kicking off the alterations enjoyed by the Edition 1
are three available colors; kabara black, bering white, and rock grey. No
matter which paint scheme customers go for, the car will include a black
grille, black Three-Pointed Star badges, and black across the door handles,
rear tailgate handle, exterior badges, roof rails, and beltline trim.
Additionally, all X-Class Edition 1 models come with black 19-inch six-twin
spoke alloy wheels.
The luxurious pickup truck also receives a bedliner
and hard tonneau cover in the same finish as the exterior. As for the cabin, Mercedes-Benz
has outfitted the Edition 1 with unique floor mats, a chrome Edition 1 badge on
the passenger side dash, leather heated seats as standard, an electric rear
windowpane, and rear privacy glass.
Powering the Edition 1 is the same powertrain as the
normal X 350d 4MATIC, namely a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine 254 hp and 550
Nm of torque that sends power to a 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive
system with a low range reduction gear. Local pricing starts at US$ 87,500 (US$ 61,127) before
on-road costs. It remains to be seen if any markets other than Australia will
receive the model.
