Tata Motors has launched the Tiago NRG AMT in India at INR 6.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company had launched the Tiago NRG MT in the country in September last year. The Tata Tiago NRG's new automated manual transmission is a 5-speed unit.

It is available with only the 1.2-litre Revotron naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. While the petrol-MT configuration costs INR 5,69,990*, the petrol-AMT configuration retails at INR 6,14,990*. This means that the latter is INR 45,000* more expensive.


Along with an AMT option, the Tiago NRG has received auto-fold wing mirrors and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (replacing the older 5.0-inch unit) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also part of its equipment list are 14-inch steel wheels, contrast stitch fabric upholstery, power assisted and tilt adjustable steering, height-adjustable driver seat, remote locking and four power windows.

Being a more rugged and bolder variant, NRG is differentiated from the standard variant with additional body cladding, roof rails, faux skid plates and higher ground clearance (180 mm on the NRG as compared to 170 mm on the standard variant).


The Tata Tiago NRG is available with a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine as well. This engine 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 1,800-3,000 rpm, and it's available with only a 5-speed manual gearbox. By March 2020, the diesel engine will be discontinued.
