Kia is getting ready to present the facelifted
version of the second-gen Cadenza. The car will be first shown in South Korea,
where it’s sold as the K7.
Announcing its imminent launch are a series of
teaser images and a video released on social media. These preview the exterior
design, which has become sleeker thanks to the redesigned headlights that flow
into the grille.
The lower part of the front bumper has been updated
too, whereas the rear light signature has been modernized, with a light strip
connecting the new clusters and the Kia logo positioned on the upper part of
the boot lid. Given the comprehensive makeover for what is after all a
mid-cycle refresh, we wouldn’t be surprised if they have added more colors to
the palette and new wheel designs.
The interior will feature even more mods, with a
redesigned dashboard panel and center console. There’s a bigger infotainment
screen above the new air vents and the climate controls have been updated. The
gearshift lever and surrounding area have been reworked as well, whereas the
steering wheel appears to have been carried over.
We don’t know yet if the 2020 K7/Cadenza brings any
changes under the hood, but we will find out soon enough, given the short
caption accompanying the teasers that says ‘coming soon.
Expect almost identical changes for the North
American version of the car, which will probably be introduced before the end
of the year. The outgoing Cadenza has a US$ 33,100 MSRP and comes in three trim
levels, powered by a 290 HP, 3.3-liter petrol V6.
