The 8-year old Dodge Charger has been treated to the
Octane Edition, which can be ordered with a US$ 1,495 premium for the SRT Hellcat
model only. The car will remain on sale through the end of the model year and
will arrive at dealers this fall.
Available in Pitch Black or White Knuckle exterior
colors contrasted by a full-length Satin Black center stripe with Octane Red
accents on the edges.
Color aside, the Charger SRT Hellcat Octane Edition
also adds black exterior badging, satin black decklid spoiler, 9.5×20-inch
aluminum-forged Cross Brace wheels in low-gloss black and the Brembo brake
package with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, painted in Octane
Red.
A novelty for the muscle sedan are the SRT
Performance seats, with ‘SRT Hellcat’ logo stitching on the seat back, red
accent stitching and Houndstooth insert. The cabin also gets red stitching
throughout, red seatbelts, gloss black accents, Dark Brushed II instrument
panel and console bezels and black-on-black SRT Hellcat instrument badge.
Power remains unchanged, with the 6.2-liter
supercharged V8 engine still pumping out 707 hp and 881
Nm of torque. It runs the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds and tops out at 328 km/h.
