Customers in the UK
can now place an order for the revamped Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 and its Coupe
variant, with the first examples set to be delivered this autumn. Prices for
the 2020 GLC 63 start from £ 74,599 for the standard model and £ 85,855 for the
more powerful 63S. The GLC 63 Coupe is priced from £ 77,089 and £ 88,345, for the
“base” and S respectively.
Power comes from a
handbuilt twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing 469 HP and 650
Nm of torque. The more powerful 63S models come with 503 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Both of them are paired to a nine-speed automatic
transmission and AMG’s Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system.
The updated
Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S is capable of a 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and
an electronically limited top speed of 280 km/h. Standard equipment in
the GLC 63 includes air suspension, an electronic rear differential, 19-inch
alloy wheels, Active Parking assist, the MBUX augmented navigation system,
ambient interior lighting, AMG sports seats and more.
Go for the 63 S
and, apart from the extra power, you’ll also get red brake calipers, AMG
Performance seats, bodykit detailing in matt iridium silver, 20-inch alloy
wheels and AMG’s multifunction steering wheel dressed in nappa leather.
AMG’s
high-performance ceramic composite brakes come with bronze-colored six-piston
calipers and are available only in the 63 S as a £ 4,285 option. For an extra
£ 1,695, you can add the Driving Assistance Package Plus, which includes Active
Distance Assist Distronic and Active Steering Assist; Active Braking Assist
with cross traffic function; Evasive Steering Assist; Active Lane Keeping
Assist; Active Blind Spot Assist; Active Speed Limit Assist; and Pre-Safe Plus.
