The only street-legal Vulcan in existence is
preparing to compete at this year’s Gumball 3000 “race”, and has just been
previewed wearing a distinctive wrap. The Vulcan gets its name from the
Avro Vulcan strategic bomber and, fittingly, a jet-inspired wrap made up
primarily of white and brown adorns the exterior of this example. Aston
Martin‘s hypecar is already one of the most head-turning production vehicles
released in recent memory, and this wrap makes it stand out even further.
Initially, the Aston Martin Vulcan was built as a
track-only hypercar and limited to just 24 examples worldwide. However, a
British company called RML Group converted one Vulcan into a street car back in
2017 – and ιτ’s the same vehicle you’re looking at.
The car underwent a series of modifications to make
it street-legal. For starters, proper headlights had to be fitted into the
clamshell hood and turn signals into the huge rear wing and side mirrors. Clear
covers were also placed over the taillights, while a series of modifications
were made to the suspension and engine and the front splitter is less extreme.
This particular Vulcan may be street-legal, but we
highly doubt it’ll be any more comfortable to drive on the road. This year’s Gumball 3000 will
kick off on June 10 and run from Mykonos to Ibiza and will be filled with a
huge array of impressive sports cars, supercars, and hypercars. The Aston will
probably turn the most heads not just due to its looks, but also its screaming,
820 HP 7.0-liter V12.
