Mercedes-Benz has started taking orders for the new generation CLA Shooting Brake in Germany, where deliveries will commence in September. Offered with a choice of seven powertrains at first, the base CLA 180 has an MSRP of € 32,213.30, which makes it only € 782.45 less expensive than the C-Class Sedan. 

The entry-level CLA Shooting Brake is powered a 1.3-liter turbo four co-developed with Renault-Nissan that’s rated at 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque and is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.


Next in the lineup is the CLA 200, which uses the same engine, albeit with 163 PS and 250 Nm of torque and matched to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The CLA 220 and CLA 250 4Matic are powered by a 2.0-liter unit, making 190 PS and 300 Nm, and 224 PS and 350 Nm and are available exclusively with a 7-speed DCT.

The diesel lineup kicks off with the € 34,623.05 CLA 180d that uses a 1.5-liter sourced from Renault-Nissan with delivering 116 PS and 260 Nm of torque, while higher up are the CLA 200d and CLA 220d, both with a a 2.0-liter oil burner. This unit pushes out 150 PS and 320 Nm in the former, and 190 PS and 400 Nm in the latter, and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. 


Customers of the all-new CLA Shooting Brake have a range of accessories to choose from, such as the Keyless-Go Convenience package, for € 892.50. Enhancing the look are the Progressive (€ 1,755.25) and AMG Line (€ 3,510.50) packs, whereas extra safety features include the Driving Assistance (€ 1,796.90), Active Distance Assist Distronic (€ 714) and Pre-Safe (€ 392.70). Plus, Mercedes also offers the Energizing (€ 1,666) and Energizing Plus (€ 2,975) packages, Parking package (€ 60), LED headlights (€ 70) and head-up display (€ 10) so you can spec the car exactly how you want to.


Available in the first year only is the Edition 1, which builds on the AMG Line and brings visual enhancements inside and out, as well as LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, the Night Package, ambient lighting and orange highlights, for a € 6,902 premium.
