Bentley continues its centenary year celebrations
with a new Continental GT-based Limited Edition model that pays homage to the
legendary No. 1 Bentley Blower of 1929. The Continental GT Convertible
Number 1 Edition by Mulliner is a modern interpretation of the iconic racing
car that will be made in a limited run of 100 units worldwide.
Each of them will feature 18-carat gold plated
fender badging as well as a piece of history — a small wheel spinner cast from
a piston from the No.1 Bentley Blower. Set in resin within the Bentley Rotating
Display, it is reminiscent of wheel spinners found on the No.1 and other
historic Bentleys.
Based on the Bentley Continental GT Convertible
powered by the 626 hp 6.0-liter W12 engine, the Number 1 Edition by
Mulliner is available in two colors: Dragon Red II or Beluga, with a Claret or
Beluga folding hood. The car’s equipment also includes the Centenary Pack,
Bentley Black Line Specification, Carbon Body Kit, and painted Number 1 front
grille.
The Bentley Centenary Specification Pack brings
Centenary badges to the rear and on the wheel centers, Centenary LED welcome
lamps, Centenary badging on the gear lever and steering wheel, and a Centenary
badge on the key-fob. Other distinctive exterior styling elements include the
jeweled filler and oil caps, as well as 22-inch MDS wheels in either Cricket
Ball or Gloss Black finish.
Inside, the limited edition Continental GT
Convertible features a new color split of either Cricket Ball or Beluga main
hide complemented by Heritage hide on the seats and door panels. Other details
include a debossed B insignia on the headrests and door inserts, Grand Black
wood veneer with 18-carat gold plated organ stops, and Alcantara steering wheel
and gear lever. A Number 1 tread plate insert and a British Jaeger clock
featuring a Number 1 face complete the package.
The Number 1 Edition will be the final car in
Bentley’s Centenary trilogy, following the Mulsanne W.O. Edition and the
Continental GT Number 9 Edition.
