Jeep Compass
Trailhawk has been launched in India at INR 26.8 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).
At this price point, it costs about INR 3.7 lakh more than the previous
top-of-the-line Compass Limited Plus 4x4 2.0 diesel trim which is currently
available at INR 23.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its pre-bookings had
commenced from the 12th of this month at 82 FCA dealerships across the country.
The Jeep Compass
Trailhawk demands quite a premium over the earlier top-spec model, and it's not
hard to figure out why. To start with, it comes with a diesel-automatic
combination. There's a BS-VI 2.0-litre Multijet II engine producing 173PS of
maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque, paired with a 9-speed torque converter.
Another major factor
which contributes to higher costs is its 'Trail-Rated' badge, which means that
it packs a number of far more superior off-roading equipment and features. To
name a few, it comes with Jeep’s Active Drive Low 4x4 system that includes a
20:1 crawl ratio and low range, hill-descent control and an additional Rock
mode for the Selec-Terrain system. Apart from this, the Trail-Rated SUV
benefits from 30 mm higher ground clearance, and better approach (26.5
degrees), departure (31.6 degrees) and ramp break-over (21.2 degrees) angles.
The Jeep Compass
Trailhawk has a unique styling with Matte Grey Surrounds in the front grille,
unique 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, Trail Rated badge, Trailhawk branding
and red interior accents. It benefits from a 7-inch driver information display
and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with in-built navigation, Apple
CarPlay and Android Auto. A panoramic sunroof is available as an option. On the
safety front, it features six airbags, TCS, ESC, Electronic Roll Mitigation,
Hill Start Assist, Hill Hold Assist and much more.
