The 2019 Bajaj Dominar has started to arrive in
Russia and the motorcycle has been priced at 290,000 rubles, which translates
to approximately INR 3.11 lakh. In comparison, the previous generation model
was sold at 280,000 rubles (INR 3.01 lakh). The Bajaj Dominar 400 goes to the
Russian market via the CBU route. In India, the 2019 Dominar 400 is available
at INR 174,125 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The motorcycle was photographed at a dealer
warehouse where it was seen in the matte black colour option. In India, the
motorcycle is available in two colours – Auroral Green and Matte Black – while
the red paint was recently spotted at the company’s Chakan plant. Previously,
the red colour was seen on test mules and in a promotional video posted by the
Pune-based brand.
The motorcycle uses the same specification as the
Indian market and it packs with MRF sourced rubber. The hardware includes the
43 mm upside-down telescopic forks at the front with brushed silver tubes, new
twin-barrel exhaust, factory installed tank pad and the revised instrument
console.
Apart from the updated hardware, the MY2019 model
packs more power than its predecessor and the 373.3 cc, fuel-injected,
single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with DOHC setup that makes 40 PS of max
power at 8,650 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Revised anchoring
setup includes a 320 mm disc at the front with a radially mounted calliper. The
front disc, unlike the previous generation motorcycle, sits on the left side of
the motorcycle. The rear continues to use a 230 mm disc while the safety net of
dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
The updated shock absorber setup features upside-down forks and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the
front and back respectively. Other changes on the 2019 model include forged
steel side stand, cast aluminium stalks for the mirrors, and bungee straps
under the pillion seat for mounting luggage.
