The India-bound 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been leaked in spy shots captured in Thailand, where it will have its world premiere on 25 July 2019. The MY2019 update is a mid-cycle refresh for the current-gen mid-size SUV that was introduced in 2015.

The current-gen Mitsubishi Pajero Sport had a rounded look to it at the front originally, but with the facelift, the face has become sharper and more dynamic. The new face is almost entirely the same as that of the facelifted Mitsubishi Triton. It incorporates the Dynamic Shield front design concept. The two-tier front light setup and the more angular elements give the mid-size SUV a more powerful look. The bumper, grille design and layout and skid plate all are new. On the sides, there are shiny new double-spoke alloy wheels.

At the back, the 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has new lighting graphics for the combination lamps, new bumper and new skid plate. On the inside, while the teaser video had given away a new, digital instrument cluster, the interior spy shot has revealed a new climate control panel. The rest of the cabin is more or less remain the same. It still features the same old all-black interior colour theme with silver finishes on the steering wheel, centreboard, door grip handles and the gear lever. Mechanical changes, if any, are yet to be known.

In India, the previous generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport retails at INR 28.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The current generation model will arrive directly in the facelifted avatar, likely with a BS-VI 2.4 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine delivering 181 PS and a peak torque of 430 Nm linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission that works in tandem with a 4WD system. The launch is said to take place by the end of this calendar year. Expect the latest model to cost around INR 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
