Buyers looking to get a 2020 Honda Insight can now
do so knowing that it features the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and
driver-assistive technologies as standard on all trims, as well as a brand new
Platinum White Pearl exterior color.
The entry-level LX model is priced at US$ 22,930, while
the EX and Touring versions cost US$ 24,310 and US$ 28,340 respectively – none of
these figures include the US$ 930 destination charges though.
For performance, the Insight offers a 1.5-liter
Atkinson-cylinder two-motor hybrid powertrain, putting down 151 HP for what
Honda describes as “brisk acceleration”. It also has an EPA-rated 55 mpg city
fuel economy figure in LX and EX trim, with best-in-class passenger space,
upscale styling and cabin appointments, according to the automaker. Honda also
claims that the Insight’s driving experience “far exceeds its hybrid
competition.”
Regardless of which trim level you choose, you get
the following features as standard: multi-element LED headlights, push-button
start and the previously-mentioned Honda Sensing suite of safety features.
However, if you opt for the EX model, you also get an 8-inch Display Audio
system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
Meanwhile, the top of the range Touring spec adds
leather seating surfaces, an 8-way power driver’s seat, Honda Satellite-Linked
Navigation System, dual-zone automatic climate control and more. As far as the U.S. market is
concerned, the 2020 Honda Insight is built alongside the Civic and CR-V at the
automaker’s Greensburg, Indiana plant.
