South Korean novelty may debut this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Now we are looking at a prototype car for the first time. Now there is evidence that a full-fledged presentation of Elantra will be organized soon. In the meantime, foreign journalists have published “spy” photos of the next-generation Hyundai Elantra prototype.

Although this is our first look at the new Elantra, we can already make some predictions about what customers should expect.  The next-generation Elantra will probably borrow design replicas from the Hyundai Sonata 2020 sedan model year, which debuted earlier this year. We think that as a result, the new Elantra will acquire a more aggressive design. Hyundai is likely to update the interior of the Elantra.

Under the hood of a South Korean car you should not expect big changes. The naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine will remain – it could be the new engine of the SmartStream family. Most likely, it will be combined with a variator and six-speed manual gearbox, offered in the current version of the car. It is also expected the emergence of economical engine with turbocharging. However, we do not know whether a sports version of the model will be offered. Hyundai talked about the possibility of the appearance of a fully electric car.

Rumors suggest that the car might make its debut as a 2021 model at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year.
