Indian Autos Blog has got its hands on the official
specifications of the Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS that has started reaching
dealerships and will be launched very soon. The spec sheet includes the
performance and dimensions of the ABS-equipped Mahindra Mojo 300.
The Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS will draw 26.3 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm from its 294.72 cc, DOHC, single-cylinder,
liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. In comparison, the carburetted engine of
the Mahindra Mojo UT300 made 23.11 PS, while the fuel-injected mill of
the Mahindra Mojo XT300 delivered 27.19 PS. The peak torque output is
not available in the leaked document, although it will most likely be 30 Nm.
The motor will be a BS-IV unit and be linked to a six-speed transmission. The
document also confirms that Mahindra will drop the XT and UT tags from the
branding and use ABS tag instead.
The
Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS retains the twin-pod headlight, while LED DRLs are no
longer available. The new 300 ABS branding is seen in the form of a sticker on
the side panel, while the Mojo tag occupies the tank. The upcoming model has
also traded the golden coloured frame for a black finish. The semi-digital
instrument console has received an ABS indicator on the bottom, next to the
tachometer, but that's its only change.
The budget-friendly hardware specifications match
those of the UT300 variant. The upcoming model uses conventional telescopic
forks at the front and a monoshock at the back to perform the shock absorption
tasks. A single-sided unit has replaced the twin-sided exhausts. The exhaust on
the new model, as reported earlier, is claimed to be higher than the
UT300/XT300 models for better ground clearance.
The Mojo 300 ABS was seen with Pirelli sourced tyres
at the showroom. However, Mahindra may also offer MRF sourced rubbers, and
offer the motorcycle at a relatively lower price tag. Governed by the safety
net of dual-channel ABS, the braking setup comprises 320 mm and 240 mm discs with
Bybre sourced callipers at the front and back respectively.
The price for the new Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS is yet
to be announced. We expect to see an INR 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) tag.
