The 2019 Bajaj Boxer 150X has been launched in
Russia, and it has been priced from RUB 87,500. The MY2019 update
has brought various new features. For starters, the Boxer 150X is
now available with a five-speed gearbox and a gear position indicator – two
features that Bajaj Auto recently added to its Platina 110 with the launch of
the H Gear edition. The Boxer 150X also gets a USB charger that can be used to
recharge electronic devices like a smartphone or GoPro on the go. The 2019
Boxer 150X is available in two variants:
- Four-speed transmission/Front disc brake and rear drum brake: RUB 87,500
- Five-speed transmission/Front disc brake and rear drum brake: RUB 88,900
Apart from the addition of the three features
mentioned above, the Bajaj Boxer 150X has no other changes. In terms of
styling, the Boxer 150X continues to pack the rugged looks. The fascia features
a round headlight that is accompanied by a body-coloured mask, a flyscreen and
a tall-set front fender. The rugged look to the front of the motorcycle is
further emphasised by the fork gaiters.
The rest of the setup is basic, and the motorcycle
uses an 11-litre fuel tank, single-piece saddle, a luggage rack behind the
pillion seat and saddle stay-style extensions on the sides. The graphics add a
stylish look to the motorcycle. The Boxer 150X is designed to take the rural
roads, and thus the bike rides on dual-purpose tyres that are wrapped in alloy
wheels. The front uses a 3.00 X 17-section tyre while the rear gets a 100/90 X
17-section rubber.
Mechanical specifications include a 144.8 cc
single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that makes 12 PS of peak power at 7,500 rpm
and 12.3 Nm of max torque at 5,500 engine-revs. The motorcycle comes with the
convenience of an electric start along with the conventional kick-starter. The
bike is available with two gearbox options - four-speed and five-speed. A disc brake at the front and a
drum unit at the back give the Boxer 150X Disc the stopping power. Shock
absorption department uses telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided
spring-in-spring (SNS) suspension at the back.
Bajaj Auto has no plans to introduce the Boxer 150X
in India. For the domestic market, it is working on a new variant of the Pulsar
family which it is expected to launch very soon. The upcoming Pulsar may arrive
in the 125 cc segment.
