Order books for the fourth member of the Ceed family, the XCeed, have opened in the United Kingdom. The range starts with the 2, priced at £ 20,795, which gets standard equipment that counts 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, front fog lamps, LED taillights, 8-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration, reversing camera, keyless entry and air conditioning.

Drivers are assisted by the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and cruise control, with the pedestrian detection an option that’s part of the Advanced Driving Assistance Pack. For the 3, the Korean car brand is asking £ 23,295. The mid-spec adds 18-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, electrically folding side mirrors with heating function, 10.25-inch infotainment system, part leather upholstery on the seats, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, electric parking brake and smart entry and push-button start. There’s also a sliding storage box in the center console, and cars fitted with the manual gearbox benefit from a pedestrian detection system which is an option on DCT versions.


Upgrade to the £ 28,095 First Edition and the XCeed will add even more gear. A dark chrome mesh grille with satin chrome frame, black gloss side mirror caps, cloth and part leather upholstery with yellow detailing, electrically operated driver’s seat, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, JBL premium sound system, wireless phone charger, aluminum pedals and a 40:20:40 split folding rear seats are standard.

The top XCeed grade features Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian detection and Smart Cruise Control on cars fitted with an automatic transmission, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Intelligent Speed Limit warning and Tire Pressure Monitoring System.


The engine family consists of 120 PS 1.0-liter petrol unit in the 2 and 3 grades, a 115 PS and a 136 PS 1.6-liter diesel in the 2 and 3, respectively, and 1.4-liter petrol that produces 140 PS that’s available in the 3 and the First Edition. The entry-level model is available solely with a six-speed manual transmission, whereas the other two, depending on the engine, can be had with a 7-speed DCT, too.

The first units of the XCeed will arrive in Kia’s UK showrooms in September.
