SsangYong has just launched the Rexton ICE Edition
for the United Kingdom, set to arrive at dealers in mid-July, with a £ 34,995 starting price. It’s based on the 2019.5 Rexton
ELX mid-range trim and is finished in a unique Ice White pearlescent paint,
hence the name. It also gets new 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler with
brake lamp, roof rails and touch-sensing door handles.
The cabin sports a black look with beige headlining
and packs the following features: 7-inch instrument cluster, 2-inch HD
navigation system, DAB radio, reversing camera, Bluetooth, tilt and telescoping
steering wheel, dusk-sensing headlights and rain-sensing windscreen wipers,
power inverter (115/220V), boot net separating the luggage and passenger
compartments and premium floor mats, among others.
The Rexton ICE Edition packs a selection of safety
gear as well, such as autonomous emergency braking, hill descent control,
electronic stability program, active rollover protection, lane departure
warning, traffic sign recognition, high beam assist and electronic parking
brake with auto hold.
Like other second-gen Rextons destined for Britain,
the ICE Edition is also powered by a 2.2-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine,
with 181 PS and 420 Nm of torque. It can be
connected to the standard AISIN six-speed manual or the optional
Mercedes-sourced seven-speed automatic transmission. All models have a top
speed of 185 km/h and the ability to accelerate to 96 km/h in 11.3 seconds with the manual, or 11.9 seconds with the automatic gearbox.
The Rexton also boasts a 3.5-ton towing capacity.
